Transportation

Public transport in London has a fairly high price and is one of the destinations where you can find the greatest difference compared to other European capitals.

London subway

With its 11 lines, the London Underground network is one of the most extensive in the world. Practically, wherever you are there will be a metro stop very close. To refer to the tube, Londoners use the word "Tube" and, to a lesser extent, "Underground".

The Oyster Card is the best way to save on transportation.Basically, it is like having a 50% discount on your trips. So if a Tube ride in central London costs £ 4.90, with the Oyster you are going to pay £ 2.40.

Buses in London

London's famous red double-decker buses are not the fastest means of transport in the city. However, they are a suggestive way to explore central London. The price of a single bus ticket is £ 1.50 (US $ 2) and to pay it you will need a contactless credit card, an Oyster card or a Travelcard. Currently payment in cash is no longer supported.

London taxis

Despite being large, attractive and comfortable, London's famous Black Cabs "compete" with Amsterdam taxis to be the most expensive in Europe. The capacity of the "black taxis" is 5 people in addition to the driver.
